Planning a family getaway can be both exciting and daunting. With so many destinations to choose from, it can be challenging to find the perfect spot that caters to everyone's needs. If you're looking for family-friendly travel destinations to explore this year, we've got you covered! Here are some recommendations that will surely make your family vacation a memorable one.

  1. Ballpark City: One of our favorite types of trips is to travel to a new city and state and visit the Major League Baseball stadium. Taking in a stadium tour, staying for batting practice and trying to catch a fly ball, then enjoying a game and ballpark food is a great way to enjoy a new city. Some of our favorites include visiting the Kansas City Royals stadium, San Diego Padres stadium, and the Minnesota Twins Stadium.

  2. Visit a Zoo: If your family is an adventurous bunch, consider a trip to one of the amazing zoos we have in our nation. Packed with intersting animal exhibits, tours, and opportunities to get up close to exotic or endangered animals, visiting one of the many world-renowed zoos is a great way to have fun as a family. Our favorites include the Kansas City Zoo which features a sky-fari where you can view the Safari animals from a ski-lift type ride and the San Diego zoo which lets you get up close with Koalas and the Elephants!!

  3. Cabin Getaway: For a cozy and nature-filled escape, a cabin getaway is the ideal choice. Explore scenic hiking trails, have a picnic by the river, rent a boat to go fishing or swimming in the lake, or simply relax by the fireplace with your family. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and create lasting memories in the tranquility of the mountains. Some of our favorite destinations include Nisswa, Minnesota and Crosslake Minnesota! Beautiful lakes, fantastic breweries and restaurants, and small-town charm make these ideal destinations.

  4. Theme Park Adventure: One of our favorite family trips is to visit Disney or Universal theme parks! Throughout the year, there are several events and festivals that provide wonderful dining and show experiences. We love visiting Disney during Halloween and taking in the Mickey's-Not-So-Scary Halloween party or attending one of the other themed nights like Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios during Christmastime.

  5. State Fair Adventure: Each summer across the country, state fairs pop up to provide fun and low-cost entertainment for families. We love our own Minnesota State Fair. Trying new foods, shopping the international bazaar, going on rides, and seeing shows are all part of the fair-going experience. If you haven't been to the Minnesota State Fair, have you really lived??

I cannot wait to share more about each of these types of adventures and destinations with you at the Cozy Compass! Cheers! ~Tami
